Find Out How Your System Can Become a Lot Smarter.
Quick Take: Josh.ai has rolled out AI X OS, a full software overhaul for its whole-home smart control platform. The update redesigns the Josh App, adds AI-generated scenes, and brings pool and spa control into the mix. The best part? It’s delivered as a free update to systems already installed in Avidia clients' homes.
A control system that hasn't been touched in a year or two starts to show it. Your smart home experience stops feeling smart and becomes more of a luddite. Favorite shortcuts get buried three screens deep, and scenes stop matching your routines.
Josh built AI X OS to close that gap by weaving artificial intelligence throughout the entire control experience, rather than bolting one flashy feature onto the same old app.

Enjoy a Home Screen That Learns Your Household
The redesigned Josh App leads with a Favorites-First home screen, and every family member can pin their own most-used devices and rooms to the top.
A new navigation bar keeps lighting, climate, and security controls within just a few taps, and an Active Media Hub shows whatever music or video is already playing so nobody has to hunt for it room to room.
The voice interface got an upgrade as well, with faster, more conversational replies through Josh Nano and the in-wall touchscreens.
Create Scenes By Describing Them Instead of Programming Them
Building a scene used to mean sitting down with an integrator to map out every light level and shade position. AI X OS flips that: describe what you want in plain language, and the system drafts a scene on the spot, then lets you fine-tune it in the app.
The new update also studies daily patterns and suggests new automations on its own, like dimming the great room every night around the time your family usually settles in for a movie.
Control Reaches the Backyard Too
AI X OS is also the first version of the Josh platform to bring pool and spa equipment into the same app as lighting, audio, and video. Jandy and Pentair systems now show up as their own device category, so simply say, "set the spa to 102 degrees," the same way you would ask for the family room lights to dim. For North Shore homes that lean hard on outdoor living every summer, that's one less separate app to dig through.
What This Means For Your Home Systems
If Josh.ai already runs your home, this update reaches your system over the air, so the Avidia team doesn’t have to visit your home for you to get the new app, the smarter scenes, or the redesigned touchscreens. If your current home automation experience feels like it's fallen behind what the latest technology can actually do, an update is often a far smaller project than most homeowners expect.
